Sports
Involvement in sport at Maritime Academy holds the promise of opportunity, achievement, enjoyment, the establishment of life long friendships and, above all, a well-rounded experience.

If you’re serious about your sporting and recreational pursuits and also want to experience the enjoyment and camaraderie that sport can provide, Maritime Academy is the place for you!

Counselling Centre
- Looking out for the well-being of students:

While your studies at Maritme Academy should be exciting, happy and productive, we at the Counselling Centre also know that being a student can be very stressful. And the problem is that psychological distress will interfere with your academic studies. So if you are feeling worried, anxious, depressed, overwhelmed or stressed, then do come and see us as soon as possible. You can be assured that the counsellors will take your concerns seriously and maintain the strictest level of confidentiality.

The Counselling Centre specialises in:

  • Confidential Counselling
  • Referral information (helping students know which other support services are appropriate and linking them with these services – this reduces the amount of time and effort it takes to be helped appropriately)
  • Anti-Harassment Services
  • Training Courses in Basic Counselling Skills
  • Workshops on relevant issues
  • Organising support groups for students with similar interests and goals
  • The provision of self-help material

Students are encouraged to visit the Counselling Centre if they feel anxious, depressed or concerned about any personal issues. Over 1000 students visited the Counselling Centre last year.
